2nd Grade Fall Leaf Prints


2nd Grade Mexican Suns


3rd Grade "Blown" Trees




3rd Grade students blew watery black paint through a straw to create a tree. When it was dry glued on a few tissue paper leaves.

4th Grade Fall Still Life


Fourth Grade students looked at a still life set up in the classroom. They first drew the contour or outline of the still life vegetables. Then they drew the details inside the shapes. The went over all of their lines with black marker and then used tempera cakes to paint their entire picture.

1st Grade Suns


1st Grade


First grade students talked about the importance of the sun and its prevalence in artwork around the world. They looked at Mexican artwork that featured suns that were inspired by the traditional Aztec sun. Here are some of their suns that feature some of the same characteristics of Aztec Suns.

The first day of school


Kindergarten students talked about their feelings on the first day of school. They learned that lines and colors can show feelings. They read a book called "The Kissing Hand" and drew and painted how they felt on the first day of school.

Welcome Back!

Only a short time now and students will begin trickling into the school. The first week of school we will go over rules, procedures and expectations in art class.
