Clay Birds

2nd Grade students used clay to create clay birds. They learned vocabulary associated with clay such as pinch pot, kiln, firing, 3-dimensional, etc. They discussed where clay comes from and things that are made out of clay. They learned that people have been using clay for thousands of years.
